This elegant Ubuntu Bowl is the biggest in our range. 14 hand-modelled African clay figures are arranged in a circle holding hands around the rim of the bowl. The white stoneware clay is overlaid with a decorative pattern in white glaze, which means it will compliment any interior, neutral or otherwise.

“UMUNTU ngumuntu ngabantu” is a complex Nguni word that means “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.”   Or in English,  “I am what I am because of who we all are."  

In Africa, the definition of an individual is community-based and not individualist. The Ubuntu bowls with their women holding hands in a spirit of Ubuntu, represent this philosophy.
