This dish is perfect for the Christmas table for nuts, chocolates, gold coins, or in your bedroom or bathroom to hold earrings and trinkets. The subtle white on white patterning makes it perfect for a neutral setting and the gold accents give it a festive air.   Each of these bowls is wheel thrown from stoneware clay and the hand-modelled African angel lady figure is added with skill and care.

The bowl's angel wears her traditional headscarf in typical African fashion. “UMUNTU ngumuntu ngabantu” is a complex Nguni word that means “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.”  Or in English,  “I am what I am because of who we all are."  

In Africa, the definition of an individual is community-based and not individualist. Zizamele's Ubuntu pieces represent this philosophy.
